Russia-Belarus intergovernmental agreement on entry regulations for major sports competitions
On May 29, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei signed an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) on certain issues related to the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons to international sports competitions.

On October 24, 2017, the UN Security Council voted on the US-sponsored draft resolution calling for a hasty extension of the mandate of the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM) into the use of chemical weapons in Syria even before the release of a report on its activities this year.
